Almost 100 years of history

The Hotel Central is located in a building dating from the 1920s, in the center of Geneva, at the foot of the old town. Run by the Payn family for several generations, the Gangsted family took over it in January 1999, continuing its family hotel heritage.

Christine and Erik Gangsted are both graduates of the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne and worked for several years in managerial positions in luxury hotels in Asia before they missed Europe and decided to come back to create their own. business together. They discovered the charming little Hotel Central and immediately fell in love with it. After several years and a lot of love, the hotel has grown to now have 29 rooms, 7 apartments and a total of 100 beds.

Today their two children, Kristoffer and Jenna, who also studied at hotel schools, also participate in the family business.
